The Secret Recipe

Anastasia (Stasi) McAteer is a writer, speaker, worship curator and foodie. Marrying these passions, she has joined a grassroots movement to encourage the integration of Slow Food principles into spiritual life (Slow Food:Slow Church). Because of her desire to spread the gospel of good food mixed with strong faith, she is the self-proclaimed "FoodiEvangelist".

Stasi holds a Master of Divinity with a concentration in Worship, Theology and the Arts from Fuller Theological Seminary, and has done doctoral work in Liturgical Studies at the Graduate Theological Union, Berkeley. She authored the popular blog Feminary while at Fuller, and has written and edited worship resources for and Augsburg Fortress Press (ELCA). She has also served as a liturgical consultant for several local churches.

Stasi’s other publications include a reader’s theater version of the Book of Revelation, and the essay "Exorcising the Spirit" in the collection Jesus Girls: True Tales of Growing Up Female and Evangelical (Cascade Books, 2009). She has also published critiques of film, television, theater, and music.

Stasi lives in San Diego, CA with her current congregation: Maggie (age 4) and Kieran (age 2). She is married to John and has a cat named St. Bede the Venerable.
